CNC Machine Operator I
Summary/Objective
Responsible for the manufacture and inspection of high precision products of varying complexity under general supervision. Responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed and must have the appropriate level of CNC machining experience required for the job as outlined below.
Essential Functions
- Adhere to Harmonic Drive Shop Employee Expectations as trained
- Set up and operate various CNC machine tools in accordance with company policy, procedures, and time standards.
- Perform various repetitive production machining operations using the ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches and work instructions.
- Inspect parts produced.
- Transmit and receive CNC programs, maintain computerized and/or manual production records.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Competencies

Shop Floor Janitor
Summary/Objective
The Shop Floor Janitor is responsible for facility maintenance as directed by the Facility Maintenance Supervisor.
Essential Functions
- Routine maintenance of facility and equipment
- Preventative maintenance
- Disposal of metal scrap from machine tools
- Mixing and dispensing fresh coolant to machine tools
- Maintaining adequate lubrication reservoir levels in machine tools
- Ensures that Facility is maintained in a neat and orderly appearance
- Responsible for safe operation of the facility
- Performs miscellaneous jobs as assigned
Competencies
- Prior experience on cleaning or housekeeping crew
- Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions in writing, oral or diagram form
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English both verbal and written
- Experience with various janitorial maintenance jobs
- Skilled in painting, carpentry, plumbing, and demolition
- Trouble shooting equipment malfunctions
- Performing routine and preventative maintenance on HVAC, Oil Mist Extractors, Solvent Cleaning Machines, Machine Tools, etc.
- Operation and maintenance of electric fork lift truck
- Operation and maintenance of scissors lift
- Capable of determining and using a wide variety of personal protective equipment
- Able to use basic arithmetic
- Capable of completing assignment in a timely manner without constant supervision
- Capable of performing maintenance duties during facility shut down
- Valid Driver's License & good DMV record
- Capable of performing assigned janitorial tasks without losing track of details
- Operate janitorial equipment (floor scrubbers, buffers, cleaning machines, etc.)
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional manufacturing and office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers as well as janitorial equipment.

Test Engineer I
Summary/Objective
The Test Engineer I is responsible for maintenance, calibration, fixture development and installation of test equipment, including work-cell layout, product flow optimization, cost reduction and quality improvements. Consideration of ergonomics, employee health, safety and quality of work life are important. Equipment layout, set up and training are also part of this position.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for designing and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Analyze existing processes, identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and propose and implement improvements. This may involve developing new techniques, implementing automation systems, and utilizing lean manufacturing principles
- Plans and sets up work centers in conjunction with Mfg. Engineering to create an efficient workflow, yield and quality of work performed.
- Works hands-on with a wide variety of manufacturing equipment and processes with a focus on Electro-mechanical assembly and machining.
- Works with manufacturing engineers, quality control personnel, supervisors and machine operators to maximize shop-floor productivity.
- Participates in root-cause analysis and corrective action of quality discrepancies.
- Assists in training of machine operators on company procedures and task-specific requirements.
- Implements 5s and other LEAN tools within the company
- Reviews and improves production processes and labor standards
- Assists operators at the bench level to raise their level of performance, yield and quality
- Use and update ERP/Assembly planner system as required
Competencies
- Working knowledge of general mechanical, and precision electro-mechanical assembly
- Experience with the operation,
- Good general computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work creatively and responsibly with minimal supervision
- Implementing 5s and other LEAN tools, as well as process improvements
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct reports but considered a high influencer within the department.
Work Environment

Required Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline required; an advanced degree is a plus
- 1-7 years of experience with test equipment
- Experience in a progressive technical responsibility; Preferably in the electro-mechanical assembly, mechanical assembly, or medical equipment space
- General knowledge of machine shops and practices for Electro Mechanical, working knowledge for Mechanical.
- LEAN tool implementation
- Good general computer skills
